Latest arrival! Emmanuel Brochet Champagne Le Mont Benoit Extra Brut

Emmauel's vineyards are located in the little village of Villers-Aux-Noeux in the Montagne de Reims on the lieu-dit “Le Mont Benoit”, a premier cru, that is made up of clay, silt and limestone on a limestone base.

Some of the vines date back to 1962. Brochet is certified organic and uses a quartz yeast developed by his friend Jean-Pierre Fleury, who is biodynamic.

While others use grapes from Le Mont Benoit, he is the only producer who sources his fruit exclusively from the cru. Based 80% on the 2010 vintage with 20% of 2009 reserve, Brochet's Le Mont Benoit Extra Brut (L010) is an assemblage of 50% Pinot Meunier, 25% Pinot Noir (25%) and 25% Chardonnay, all fermented and aged in used barriques for 11 months.

Bottled unfined and unsulfured, it has been disgorged after three years with four grams of dosage.
