Ferrari

Italy South Tyrol Trento

Nominated "European Wine Cellar of the Year" by Wine Enthusiast in 2015 and "Sparkling Wine of the Year" at the Champagne and Sparkling World Championships, Ferrari Trento is a brand that celebrates "the art of Italian living".

But Ferrari Trento is actually a family business that was founded by Giulio Ferrari in 1902. Giulio had studied in France to realize his dream: creating an Italian wine inspired by the most famous Champagne. Back in Trentino, Giulio Ferrari was the first to understand the potential of the Trentino mountains and was the first to bring chardonnay and pinot noir in the area. He managed the winery for 50 years creating exclusive selections. Having no heirs, he sold the cellar to the man who became his successor: Bruno Lunelli, a wine merchant from Trento. The Lunelli family took over in 1952 and today the president and managing director, Matteo Lunelli, is the third generation to manage the winery.

A Ferrari sparkling wine is not born by chance: it is the fruit of man's nature and work.
According to Matteo Lunelli, the mountains of Trentino are the perfect land for growing grapes. Located in the center of the Alps, the vineyards are 300-700 meters high.

Ferrari Trento works exclusively with chardonnay and pinot noir, and produces more than a dozen different sparkling wines.

The company owns 120 hectares - all certified 100% organic which are managed by a team of 8 agronomists.

Trento DOC was the first DOC created in Italy for the classic method and the second in the world after Champagne. Today there are a total of 40 producers producing high quality sparkling wines made exclusively in the style of the classic method. Trentodoc also represents the largest vineyard area planted with Chardonnay in Italy, thanks to the intuition of Giulio Ferrari.

Each Ferrari wine undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle according to the strict regulations of the denomination Trento DOC. Ferrari wines are proudly Italian in craftsmanship and reputation. Ferrari Brut, Ferrari Perlé and Giulio Ferrari are among the most famous blanc de blanc produced exclusively with 100% Chardonnay grapes. Cultivated along the foothills, Ferrari Trentodoc wines are known for their exceptional elegance and finesse.
