Montalcino: good impressions about harvest 2016 from Casanova di Neri
“The climate, all things considered, has been balanced in this vintage 2016” affirms Giovanni Neri, owner of Casanova di Neri winery. “Winter has been moderate, while Spring time showed some rainfalls and average temperatures. Summer has been also moderate, with some rainy days but with no so important climate changes: temperature never went beyond 32-33 degrees. Vintage 2016, for the seasonal trend, could be compared to 2004".
Have you started the harvest? “Yes, we’ve started this morning with the vineyards, located in the south part of the company and within ten days, we will start with the north part of it.
It’s hard to compare this year with vintage 2015, but considering this balance summer, grapes from harvest 2016 are expected to be…perfect".
