The 2016 Barbaresco Riserva Asili is a wine of pure and total sensuality. Light on its feet, gracious and perfumed, the 2015 is all class. Sweet rose petal, spice, mint, dried flowers, anise and blood orange give the 2015 striking aromatic complexity, but it is the translucence of the Nebbiolo fruit that I most admire here. All the elements simply fall into place in an effortless, utterly compelling Barbaresco from Ca' del Baio and the Grasso family.
