About this wine
Bruno Rocca's beautiful 2015 Barbaresco sees fruit sourced from various parcels, including the lower part of the Currà cru and the Fausoni vineyard. The farming crew was especially careful not to pull too many leaves during this hot summer, thus safeguarding much of the wine's natural acidity. Those watchful farming procedures also did much to guarantee primary fruit freshness and purity. Those results include dark cherry and blackberry aromas with spicy herbal notes on the close. The wine's texture is silky, and the tannins show a mild point of dryness.
A pretty red, leading with rose, strawberry and cherry aromas and flavors allied to an elegant frame, this is firmly structured, if a bit lacier in texture than many 2015s, with accents of earth, tobacco and tar. Ends with a chalky feel. Best from 2022 through 2040.
The 2015 Barbaresco Rabajà shows a more finessed side of this site in its elegant, understated personality. Sweet red cherry, mint and floral notes along with nicely integrated tannins, are among the signatures. Delineated and bright, the 2015 is an attractive wine if taken on its own terms, although it is not especially typical nor representative of Rabajà.
Aromas of fresh plums and spices with hints of cedar following through to a medium body with tight and firm tannins. A flavorful finish. Juicy and spicy at the end. Drink now or hold.
