About this wine
This wine will be released this upcoming September. Bruno Rocca and his family have moved the release of this wine forward by six months. Given the importance of its structure and the complexity of the bouquet, it is more similar to a Barolo in their judgment and can therefore use more time to integrate in the cellar. The 2015 Barbaresco Rabajà is a beautiful wine, and the Rocca family never disappoints. This estate is at the top of a list of my favorite Barbaresco producers. This gorgeous achievement showcases fine mineral nuances stitched firmly throughout the generous fruity fiber of the wine. This part of Rabajà has cool, heavy soils and is west-facing and therefore does well in hot vintages such as 2015.
Rich and almost chewy, boasting cherry, plum, licorice, tar and earth flavors. Balanced and satisfying, showing fine intensity and a long, fruit- and earth-tinged finish. Best from 2022 through 2039.
The 2015 Barbaresco Rabajà shows a more finessed side of this site in its elegant, understated personality. Sweet red cherry, mint and floral notes along with nicely integrated tannins, are among the signatures. Delineated and bright, the 2015 is an attractive wine if taken on its own terms, although it is not especially typical nor representative of Rabajà. -- Antonio Galloni
Lots of cedar and light rose petals, as well as wild strawberries on this Barbaresco. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and spice undertones. Medium chewy on the finish. Very elegant and polished. Drink now.
