Cascina delle Rose

Cascina delle Rose is a small business acquired from the Rizzolio family on 1948, situated in Rio Sordo, one of the historical cru of Barbaresco. The propriety is 5 hectares of land: 3,9 of vineyard and 0,9 is used for hazelnuts, the rest is a little wood and the house.

Today Giovanna Rizzolio is aided by husband Italo and his young sons Davide and Riccardo.

The winery is on the Tre Stelle cru and they’re the only producer on this cru! Until 2005 this cru was part of the highly prized Rio Sordo cru, until the Consorzio and the Enoteca Regionale del Barbaresco divided the two vineyards. Now they produce Barbaresco Rio Sordo and Barbaresco Tre Stelle. Two different Barbera d’Alba, the Dolcetto d’Alba and the Langhe Nebbiolo complete the lineup.
