Oddero Luigi e Figli

Italy Piedmont La Morra

You can't look to the future if you don't know your past: it's the "motto" of the Luigi Oddero & Figli winery, born in 2006 thanks to Luigi Oddero, an oenologist of great curiosity and culture, viscerally in love with his land.
A "country gentleman", as Mario Soldati defined him in his 1975 interview reported in the book Vino al vino.

Today, after his death, the estate is ruined by his wife Lena and their children Maria and Giovanni, assisted by talented team. The company philosophy merges between conservation and progress, attention to technological innovations and the virtues of the vineyard, which has always been at the center of the project.

Oddero Luigi e Figli owns 32 hectares of vineyards, of which 21 are suitable for producing Barolo DOCG. The vineyards extend into various municipalities in the Barolo area, starting from Serralunga d'Alba (MGA Vignarionda, Broglio and Baudana), passing through Castiglione Falletto (MGA Scarrone Vigna Rocche Rivera) Barolo (MGA Drucà) and Monforte d'Alba (MGA Perno ) to finally arrive at La Morra (MGA Rive Vigna Specola, Bettolotti, Capalot).
Also relevant is the vineyard located in the MGA Rombone di Treiso, from which the homonymous Barbaresco DOCG is obtained.

The cellar, located in the hamlet of Santa Maria, in the Bettolotti district, has recently been renovated, with the construction of new premises, ideal for the vinification and aging of wines in wood, concrete and steel.

It is a great heritage and an excellent starting point for Maria and Giovanni who, making their father Luigi's teachings and experience their own, have the continuous goal of improving the quality of the wines, respecting the raw material and enhancing its differences between areas and years.
