Isola delle Falcole

The winery was created to give expression to a small fraction of one of the most suitable territories in the world for the production of high quality wine. The endeavor of Emanuele, Alessandro and Niccolò is to bring viticulture into the foreground as a way to elevate the small patch of land, emphasizing the importance of agriculture above everything in order to produce a great wine.

Isola delle Falcole is located between Panzano and Montefioralle in the heart of the Chianti Classico region, an area with one of the greatest inclinations in the world for the production of quality wine. The estate’s vineyards which comprises in total 4,5 hectares, are located at altitudes between 400 and 520 meters above sea level, and the surrounding hills create a nearly magical area, favoring a superb microclimate for viticulture. The characteristics of the vineyard are unique: from the altitude, which contributes to the acidity, finesse and freshness of the grapes, the exposure of the vineyards that varies from south to south/south-east gives the energy of the sun’s rays complete freedom to enter between the vines, and is therefore ideal for bringing a variety like Sangiovese to an exemplary ripeness, maturity and sweetness of the fruit; and the galestro terroir that strengthens the typicality of the final product. The charm of the surrounding environment makes it the ideal place from where to base an undertaking aimed at quality viticulture that gives expression to the true protagonist of wine: the vineyard.

In the cellar, completely natural fermentation combined with aging in large barrels for Sangiovese and in small barriques for Merlot enhance the distinctiveness of the raw materials. Sulfites are about 20/25 g/ml and the light filtration (11/12 microns) does not alters at all the proper characteristic of the wines.
